For RAIL FANS - enjoy!
Andrew has sent in quite a few new pictures of interesting locomotives taken in mid May and all the way back to early February! The picture captions have more detail.
Club member Ross C. had a great day's outing (July 22) and sent along the following description of his adventures: "Railfan day trip started in Cobourg where Westbound crept in (on south track at 1600) with a reported dangling chain on or about car 66. It stopped in Cobourg for Inspection by a CN construction guy (while blocking several crossings in Cobourg). This construction guy found a loose, but not dangling, hold-down chain on the car with some bizarre structures. Just then an Eastbound (Herzog) work train crept in on the North Track - a guy from the work train knew what he was doing and helped out the construction guy to reattach the chain and tighten it down - then the Westbound departed. Eastbound VIA 66, that was supposed to arrive while this was going on, was held up somewhere west of Cobourg until the westbound departed. Then the Herzog work train that had been working somewhere to the west of Cobourg, continued east to Belleville yard at 25 MPH. This work train is made out of a unit well car set.
